Streetwear is a style that does not seem to be slowing down anytime soon. If anything, it is becoming more and more popular. Streetwear is a style that most millennials are aware of because of its popularity and the fact that it is always in the news. There are many streetwear brands to choose from however, we have gathered a shortlist of the most popular brands out there and a little bit about them.

Palace

Starting with one of the newer brands in the streetwear community, palace. This was one of those streetwear brands that didn’t aim to be popular around the world until it happened. Palace just stumbled across thousands of sales very quickly, which is why it is worn by many around the globe today.

This streetwear brand began in 2009 and was originally intended for the skateboard community. However, like the skateboarders, many people enjoyed wearing Palace and appreciated the quality and unique style that were very much new to the United Kingdom. Now, it is arguably the biggest streetwear brand in the UK.

Supreme

This is going to be the most premium brand on this list because it is one of the most premium streetwear brands that exist today. That is down to several reasons. One of those reasons is because of the limited drops that they release for their collections, making it a rare item.

Another reason is that many high-street fashion brands take to the streetwear style as well. Some of those fashion brands are Louis Vuitton and Gucci. These brands will often team up with the likes of Supreme to collaborate with them, again, creating limited-edition versions.

The North Face

Another North American brand that became highly popular in the UK. The streetwear style is very different to those that wear it in the United States and Japan. For UK streetwear wearers, they will often choose to wear a mountaineering brand or a sports brand for their streetwear.

It is another brand that never intended to be the style that it is today. Their clothing range was intended to allow people to enjoy hiking and mountaineering. However, despite their intended style, streetwear wearers in the UK loved the style and adopted it as one of their own. The North Face has collaborated with many other brands similar to the likes of Supreme, Gucci and many more. The North Face collaborated with Gucci to design a version of their famous 1996 Nuptse Jacket, a jacket that is loved by many.

Stussy

Last but not least, the streetwear brand that started it all, Stssy. Shawn Stussy very quickly climbed to fame when his clothing brand spread across the whole of the United States. He founded his brand in the early 1980s in California.

This brand started with Shawn scribbling his name onto surfboards. Due to the rise in demand for his surfboards, he decided to print his name on clothing with his friend which soon became a very popular streetwear style in the whole of North America.

Unlike many of the other streetwear brands on this list, Shawn Stussy’s brand is affordable and high quality. He has never increased the value of his clothes to increase his profits. He has only designed his clothes to be affordable and popular for those that enjoy wearing streetwear.

To Conclude

There are hundreds of streetwear brands out there that many people love. These are the most recognised within the streetwear community, especially within mens streetwear. As mentioned earlier, streetwear is a very popular style that is worn by the whole of the western world. Furthermore, it is also loved by those that live in the eastern part of the world such as China and streetwear giants, Japan.
